Ride in 55: West Virginia Transportation Caucuses

Summary & Next Steps

Over 100 representatives of transportation providers, coordinators, riders and advocates attended the five state "Ride in 55" caucuses, held in Martinsburg, Wheeling, Bridgeport, Huntington and Beckley.  The caucuses were designed to take the issues identified in previously done state and regional studies and consultant reports (provided on this website at Resources) and make recommendations for solutions.

"Ride in 55" is a coordinated effort to maximize transportation opportunities for West Virginia residents in all 55 counties and to encourage the best use of transportation resources in our state.

The West Virginia Transportation Caucuses are funded by the Medicaid Infrastructure Grant to Support the Competitive Employment of People with Disabilities, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - CFDA #1QACMS30059. The lead agency is the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services. This program is managed by the Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED).
